A pioneer in the electrical engineering field, Mr. Umed Singh was instrumental in developing and manufacturing several pieces of equipment for the first time in India. His distinguished career included working with Tata Steel, one of the world’s largest steel manufacturers, and NTPC Ltd., the sixth-largest power generation company globally.
In 1985, he was awarded a prestigious British Government fellowship, which took him to London, Birmingham, and Retford in the UK for advanced training. Beyond his technical expertise, he also served as Vice President of the Gurgaon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, actively advocating for the betterment of industries in the region. His insights and contributions to various chambers of commerce left a lasting impact on industrial policy and progress.
